Tonight, we learned the exciting news from Hailey and Davis that our first grandchild is going to be a boy! After a lifetime of being surrounded by sisters and daughters (all whom I love dearly), finally there will be a boy in the family to share boy things with and to help tip the testosterone scale ever so slightly upward. It will be so different having a boy in the mix at family gatherings and holidays. The only other time we have had a boy in the house was the year our German exchange student Henry Rehbein was here in 2016.
I wonder what you would have picked for your "grandmother name". We never really talked about that. I guess we will have to put our heads together and decide what we will call you as we share stories and pictures and videos of your life. Though you will never meet in person, we will make sure that you are known to this child through our memories and your legacy within each of us.
