A gentle rain is falling as I sit on the front porch “surveying our domain”. You loved to sit here and watch and listen to the sound of the rain knowing it was serving a good purpose to provide life sustaining nourishment to our precious grass and all the beautiful plants that you lovingly tended.
It’s a chilly morning and I am cuddled up under a blanket on the swing with Koda beside me. The dogs and I miss you! The initial feelings of relief from the vigil for your journey’s end have turned into sadness for the absence of you; and grief is creeping in. I know I must embrace it and allow its course, but for now I will just sit here and listen to the rain.
