Sunrise on the Front Porch (Day 14)

Today I felt you calling me out to watch the sunrise from the front porch. It’s a cold crisp morning and as the sky gets lighter above the pine tree horizon, I can feel the warmth of your presence in my heart much like the steaming coffee cup that warms my hand. It wasn’t a particularly colorful sunrise - just a hint of pale orange filtering through the trees; but maybe that was the point. The dawn light comes in many different hues and temperatures with varying degrees of brilliance. So, it is with grief. This day came with just a glimmer of color; but even so, the light of day has broken through.
