LateIy I’ve been looking through some of the Creative Memory albums from the coffee table. These precious books chronicle the entirety of our life together and of our children with such creative and loving detail. You spent countless hours over the years collecting, sorting, organizing, laying out, decorating, and journaling pictures and other items in these treasure books. I remember weeks on end with your worktables out and you diligently working on these albums. You were so determined to do something special that would celebrate and commemorate the story of our family collectively and individually in a way that would become a priceless heirloom for the rest of us.
Albums were dedicated to each chapter of our lives including:
Your childhood/teenage/college years before me
Early Years in our relationship (how we met, dating, trips/special events with friends, engagement)
Our Wedding
Baby books for each child
“Through the years” books for each child
“Through the years” books for our family with holidays, birthdays, vacations or special occasions
The notes journaled on each page in your own handwriting and style help capture the moments in time and provide colorful insight into the events depicted there. You shared so many tiny glimpses of yourself and what you were thinking in those simple annotations. Now it is almost as though you are speaking the words and stories as I look at the pages.
I am so thankful for these albums and for the memories curated in their pages. They tell the story of our family through your eyes; and a part of you, far beyond the photographic images, exists in these beautiful legacies of your love.
